To all my followers I want to share this great video clip that was filmed in my hometown of Welland.

It is really such a small world. My neighbour sent me this video not realizing it was filmed in my home town. I watched it not realizing as well until I started reading the comments below it and was just amazed when I realized that the Seaway Mall food court was where this video took place.

I have to say it made me proud of the little town I grew up in. Welland is rich in history with the Welland Canal that joins Lake Erie to Lake Ontario and it's many lift bridges. It is a blue collar town and it's population is comprised of many nationalities. It is also famous as well for all the murals that have been painted on the sides of buildings making it it's own unique town.

But I am also proud of the heritage that I come from. Families on both of my parents sides were all hard workers and helped make Welland what it is today. The entrepreneurial spirit was on both sides as well,

with Pupo's Super Market, still family run,

Mary Luska's Interiors, also knows as MJ Galleries and still run by my feisty aunt at the age of 80,

Welland Trailer Sales, my Uncle Ed and cousin David Luska

and my mom's store, the Madame Shoppe which she had up until the day she died at the age of 77.

So today I proudly salute Welland and the Niagara Chorus for helping us all ring in the holiday spirit.

I hope this video warms your hearts as much as it did mine.

Red rose design jacket and wedding invitation

Simple elegance best describes this wedding invitation.

A red rose swirl design Indian paper created the jacket

for this invite. The invite was printed on one of

envelopments paper, ecru linen.

The combination of these two papers and the simple

design lend for a very elegant look.

The jacket was double wrapped with a

dark brown silk rope completing the look.

Brown and red inks were used for the

invitation wording.

We also created a custom save-the-date card

using the ecru linen from envelopments.

A brown swirl design was the main focal point

of this card. A matching ecru linen envelope

with a dark brown lining complimented

this invitation.

The slimline program was also printed on

the ecru linen from envelopments.

Again, simple but elegant.

The use of brown and red inks

were just the right combination to

give the inside of the program

Custom styrofoam lighted Chicago skyline centerpiece

We created this Chicago Skyline centerpiece

to showcase all the pieces in the wedding ensemble

we did using the Chicago Skyline as the theme.

All the pieces for this centerpiece were

custom cut out of Styrofoam, painted and then glittered.

For extra effect we added battery operated lights

to the skyline giving the feeling of stars in the sky.

The names Sylvia and Andrew were also

custom cut and arranged atop of the skyline.

Some onion grass and Mylar tissue were added

for extra pizazz.

Custom cut Chicago Skyline pocket and wedding invitation ensemble

A New Leaf, event venue was the setting
for this Chicago destination wedding
that we created everything from

the Save the Date postcards

to the final Thank You cards.

The Chicago Skyline was the theme throughout.

The save the date cards were printed

on a heavy creme color card stock.

The address side of the card featured

an outline of the Chicago skyline

while the front of the card featured

a picture of the newly engaged couple

framed within the Chicago skyline,

starting the theme for this destination wedding.

The formal invitation was created using several layers of card stock,

alternating a shinny black lacquer card stock with one of

envelopments papers called Dove.

The layering created a very formal look.

The contrast of the shinny black and creme made

for a grand appeal.

The invitation was placed into a custom cut pocket.

The pocket was created using a shinny black lacquer card stock.

The edge of the pocket was custom cut to the shape

of the Chicago skyline for a very unique,

one-of-a-kind invitation pocket.

The back of the black pocket held

This classy slimline program was printed

on envelopments dove card stock

keeping in the same theme as the invitation.

A black velvet ribbon was tied around this

slimline program that was folded into

a tri-fold for a very rich look.

and we also printed them on

the envelopment dove card stock.

We even created custom labels.

One label was used on coffee packs that were placed

into mugs as wedding favors.

The other label was place on water bottles and

This really cute invite was custom created for a baby shower

using black and white polka dots and green stripes.

A cute baby dress tops the invite.

A letter O is placed on the dress

and a little verse adds extra character.

The invitation is printed on a crystal metallic paper

with a coordinating envelope

creating a baby soft and shimmery effect.

On the envelope we added an umbrella

customized with the black & white polka dots

your invitation and program wording.
It is so easy to miss mistakes.
At Designs by Ginny we give you plenty of
opportunities to proof your wording and
we also do our best to catch mistakes

Black & Aqua custom pocketfold with monogram

The main colors for this wedding were black & aqua.

We custom created this pocket fold using a black linen card stock.

Attached to the cover flap a custom monogram featuring

the couples first names in black and

the initial in the aqua blue ink matching the color of the belize paper.

For the aqua accents were used the belize paper from envelopments.

We used this paper for the custom envelope lining.

The response card was done as a postcard style card.

The invitees name is included on the response card making

it super easy for the invited guests as all they have to do

is check whether or not they are coming.

This is also nice as it makes it clear who is invited in cases

where the guests might invite someone along who is not.

A separate reception and accommodations card were

included in the pocketfold.

The back side of the accommodations card had a map

and directions.

90th photo birthday invite

Wow, to turn 90 years old, what a celebration!

To make this moment even more special we created

this tri-fold invite full of photos of the birthday boy.

The young boy and the young man by the plane are both

pictures of Dick but the way the little boy is placed in the

photo it looks he was a part of the original photo.

We created a fun envelope for this invite with

birthday balloons and a fun frame around the

guest's address.

The above picture shows the card as you first open it with

more fun photos from the past.

This picture shows the card fully opened and the actual invitation

to the party. Each page of this invite had some picture from

Dick's past creating a little memoir of Dick

and making for an interesting invitation.

Tiffany blue and black booklet style wedding program

Black linen cardstock was used for this striking wedding program.

A Tiffany blue color satin ribbon added a classy touch.

A picture of the happy couple,

custom framed with a swirl design in the Tiffany blue,

and their last name initial along with

their first names, printed on photo paper

was mounted to the black linen,

creating this exceptional looking cover.

Black and Tiffany blue ink made for a beautiful contrast

for the inside of the program. The inside pages were

mounted to the inside cover for a clean finish.

The Tiffany blue ribbon wrapped inside the cover.

We also created a coordinating event schedule

using the black linen as the backer to a white

linen cardstock. A border in the black and Tiffany blue

surrounded the event word which was placed over

a watermark of a single element from the design

we used to frame the cover photo on the program.

Custom royal blue metallic pocketfold wedding invitation

This custom pocketfold invite was created using a soft white

metallic cardstock and royal blue shinny metallic cardstock.

The letter L was custom cut and was mounted on top of

the soft white, which was mounted onto the royal blue.

Alternating colors of the white and blue were cut to

create the stripe across the front of the cover.

Inside a custom pocket was attached to the left inside &

on the right the invitation was mounted to the royal blue

then to the white. Royal blue swirls were added to the

design of the invite as well as on the response card

and additional info card.

Across the pocket we continue the stripe effect and

added the date of the wedding on the white band.

We carried the swirl design on the envelope.

A custom lining with the couples names complimented

the inside of the envelope.

Coordinating thank you notes completed the

wedding ensemble.

Inside the thank you card a custom verse was added

as well as a watermark of the swirl design in a soft gray color.

Custom Starfish pocketfold wedding invitation, menu card, program. placecard, favor tag, signage and rehearsal dinner invite

The Jersey Shores was the setting for this summer beach wedding.

Starfish was the main theme.

We created a beautiful custom aqua metallic pocketfold.

Raffia was wrapped around the pocketfold holding it closed.

A custom cut starfish adorned the outside of the pocketfold

and the raffia was looped through a hole in the starfish

creating a very custom look.

A darker color metallic envelope created a nice contrast for

the custom lining of the same color as the invite.

A watermark of the couples names and the date of their wedding

was printed using the same color as the envelope.

Each piece of this invitation ensemble was custom designed

to carry the theme of the starfish and swirls.

Each piece had it's own look.

The response card was a postcard style card.

We printed the guests names on the card

so all the guest had to do was check the box

whether or not they were attending.

This is a great feature as sometimes the guests

forget to fill in their names and you are left

trying to guess who the card came from.

By using a postcard style response you not only save

on the return postage you save in the cost

of not having to buy the response envelope.

The bride was her guest to be informed of

the events of the evening so we custom

created a menu card that flipped up so

we had an area for the menu

and an area for the events,

again carry her starfish theme.

For the table numbers, the bride wanted to feature pictures

of her and the groom at their favorite place. We created a

custom frame with the starfish theme for the photos and each

card was then named by the place it represented.

For the matching place card, we created a two part card.

One card had the guests name and the other card had

the picture of the table they would be seated at. This worked

perfect for the bride as then she could match tables with the

guests at the last minute taking the pressure off trying to

give us a final layout for printing. Doing it this way gives you

the option to change your seating chart should you need to

at the last minute. The two cards were then tied to a starfish

that the couple gave to their guests.

Above is a custom cut favor tag we also created

that was tied to a favor box.

Here is just one of the custom signs we created.

This one featured the couples signature drink specials.

We had fun with the wedding program and

sprinkled some sand on the cover

printing their names underneath,

and mounting a custom cut starfish.

The pages were held together with raffia.

For the rehearsal dinner we used a picture of the beach as

our main design, writing the couples names in the sand.

Luck of the Irish Centerpiece

With the first Notre Dame Football game just a few days away
thought it an appropriate time to share a centerpiece we did
for St. Patrick Day titled
"Luck of the Irish"
Let's hope that the Notre Dame football team finds
the pot of gold under the goal post this season.

We created our centepiece by custom cutting the words
Luck of the Irish, the rainbow and the shamrock out of
styrofoam, then painting each piece and glittering them
A plastic bowl was spray painted gold and filled with
gold coins that spilled over the bowl.
A custom cut picture of a leprechaun was mounted onto
heavy cardstock and he was suspended from the pot of gold.
A gold coin was placed in his hand.

Fan Style Peacock wedding program, table numbers, menu card, food cards, thank you cards

Peacock feathers are becoming more and more popular as a theme for weddings. In some traditions the peacock is a symbol of good luck.

The above fan style program cover shows a peacock with it's feathers fully expanded and makes for a beautiful cover. We kept with the color theme for the wedding and colorized the photo so that is was only in the peacock blue tones with gold accents.

Each page of the program had a single feather as a watermark.

The program opened like a fan, and in a way resembled the way a peacock

fans it's feathers.

The program consisted of the cover page, intro page, ceremony page,

wedding party and then a thank you page.

A tent style menu card was placed on each table. Because there were 2 different

nationalities of foods being served the couple wanted their guests to be famaliar with

what was being served so we needed a rather large card for all the information to fit.

A watermark of a peacock filled the background of the card. This card was then

mounted to a royal blue metallic backcard that was folded to create the tent formation.

Tall thin table number cards were created with a pair of peacocks prominently standing

which made for a great focal point. Again the card was backed with the royal blue

metalic paper which created the tent formation.

Small tent style cards were placed at the various food station indicating

the food choices. Each card color coordinated with the blues and peacock feather.

And, finally, the thank you cards with a single peacock feather

carrying out this theme.

There are lots of options with using peacock feathers and as well as other feathers.

Custom Cut Shell Shaped Wedding Program

Our bride wanted a wedding program in the shape

of a sea shell.

Printed on a shimmery gold metallic card stock

this program shimmered as if it were a real shell.

The cover design was custom cut as were each of the pages inside

in the shape of a sea shell.

The wording was laid out to fit the shape of the pages.

The program was held together by a sage green bow

that looped through holes that were punched

at the top of each page.

We love it when we can get creative.

45 record menu booklet and 45 & 33 record centerpiece

Drexel University Alumuni Weekend,

Rock 'n Remember was the theme.

This menu card surely got Rockin' raves.

Created using an actual 45 record for the cover.

The original record label was removed and

replaced with a custom label that was the

logo for this event.

The center hole of the record was filled in

with the image of the logo

so that it matched the label.

The record lifted up and inside

the drink menu was printed on

heavy white card stock that was attached

to the 45 record.

Designs by Ginny also got to create a really fun centerpiece using 45 and 33 records.
The original labels were removed from the records and a custom label was created using the event logo in various colors of teal, hot pink and purple carrying thru the colors of the event.
A clear plastic tube held up the top portion of the centerpiece while supporting white mini lights for a special effect.

The base of the centerpiece was a 33 record with mylar tissue in the hot pink, purple and teal colors as accents as well as at the top of the centerpiece.
Onion grass in the coordinating colors added extra appeal to the top of the centerpiece.

Deep tones of burnt orange and deep golden yellow lilies wedding invitation

Beautiful fall shades of burnt orange, dark red and a deep golden yellow lilies

along with the scroll design of the same shades make this invitation just pop.

Backer cards of a heavy metallic card stock in the burnt orange and dark red

add extra drama bordering this design, adding depth and character.

A matching response (postcard size) card and additional info card

completed the wedding ensemble all printed on heavy smooth white card stock.

The outer envelope carried the scroll and flower design

in the upper left corner. Custom addressing completed

the look for an outstanding looking envelope.

The design was also carried to the inside of the envelope

with a custom lining which also featured the couples names.

Truly an unique and custom invitation ensemble created specifically with the brides taste in mind.

Custom thank you cards complete this wedding ensemble.

To make the task of sending out thank yous a little easier
we printed a personal note from the bride and groom
on the inside of the thank you cards.

Each bride we work with has their own personal tastes

Orange and pink large flowers wedding invite with vellum overlay

This colorful wedding invitation is sure to get attention.

Bold colors of orange and pink were used to create this unique one-of-a-kind invitation.

A custom pattern of hawaiian flowers was printed on a clear vellum for the cover using shades of deep pink and orange.

The wedding invitation wording was printed on a deep orange metallic heavy cardstock. Black ink was used for the main wording and the couples names were highlighted in a bold pink.

A custom cut flower with the couples monogram was attached to a white satin ribbon with faux silver rhinestones for added pizzazz and wrapped around the vellum cover.

The response card was printed on the orange metallic and a polka dot border was added creating more interest. This card was cut to postcard size so it could be mailed without an envelope for the postcard rate. The return address was printed on the backside.

The custom flower was also printed on the outer envelope completing this custom invitation.

Fan Style Wedding Program, with brown and pink polka dots

For this outside wedding, Designs by Ginny created this fun style wedding fan program.

The main color theme for this wedding was browns and pinks. We printed a chocolate brown and soft pink polka dot border creating a fan program. The couples monogram was the focal point on the cover page with an outline of a chinese parasol, ( a component of the wedding).
This program had more than the usual number of pages as they wanted their guests to be famaliar with all the activites as you will see they had garden games page and a photo booth page.
The couple also wanted the guests to know their selection of foods and an menu page was also added.
The fan was held together by a satin ribbon.

Prayers for the family of Emery Kauanui

This will not be the typical blog you would expect from Designs by Ginny.
I just returned from a trip to San Diego and it was an interesting trip including a wedding of which Designs by Ginny did the invitation, a 50th Birthday Party, meeting a famous author and then the most moving, meeting Cindy Kauanui, the mother of Emery Kauanui.
It was a chance meeting for sure, where two souls were put in the same place at the same time not knowing it was truly divine intervention.
I want to share bits of this story as this family suffered a tragic loss.
Emery was a well liked surfer in the LaJolla area of San Diego. One night his life was tragically taken away by a group of boys, known as the Bird Rock Bandits who beat him to death. A very senseless death.

The reason I am posting is to ask that you pray for the healing of this family. When a tragic death such as this happens the family is surrounded and comforted by friends and family. But as time goes on the family is left to pick up the pieces of their life. The support system starts to dwindle and this is when the family really needs the prayers to have the strength to carry on and find purpose in life.
There is so much more to this story. The media only shows what will bring ratings and so much gets lost or distorted. It is not my place to share the details.
Hopefully some day Cindy will be healed enough inside to write a book and tell her whole story as it will be very inspirational as she is an incredible woman, but, for now, please send her your prayers, light a candle or do whatever is in your beliefs to send healing energy to this family so they can all move on.
I do believe there is power in putting out positive energy and even tho you don't know this family just your positive thoughts will help heal them.

Moe's Doggie Party Goodies

Moe celebrated his 13th birthday back in March

Designs by Ginny had the pleasure of designing

his birthday invitation. You can view it in a previous blog.

We wanted to share some of the goodies we made for his party

Below is a custom makeup bag with the star himself, MOE!

He is proudly front and center of this bag. The background

pattern is various sizes of dog paws and

a watermark of his name very lightly behind.

A silver dog bone and blue crystal stone hang

from the zipper pull adding some pizzazz.

Below are custom gift bags with each of the doggie guests

picture featured on them. Each doggie guest also got a custom

scarf with their name embroidered on for a real personal touch.

Each scarf had it's own personality making it extra special.

Moe's mommy also wanted a doggie theme runner for her table

so we made her a reversable runner with dog paw print

on the one side, and dog bones on the other.

Above is the logo for the Drexel Alumni Weekend, coming at the end of this month.

They asked us to create something in their theme.

And, voila, we have the Dragon suspended above the galaxy,

with a mass of shooting stars behind the Dragon.

This close up shows the detail cutting of the Dragon.

These centerpieces will sure add to the room decor

June F. Klinghoffer Memorial Tribute Booklet/ Drexel University

Designs by Ginny had the honor of creating a memorial booklet

celebrating the life of June F. Klinghoffer

who dedicated her life to teaching and touching the lives of her young students

and anyone who came under her wing.

The cover of this booklet if a perfect reflection of June.

She was famous for having her hands in her pockets

and this medical jacket with the hands in the pocket was very fitting.

The cover was wrapped with a ribbon with the Medical school colors

and then held together with a custom label with the

Drexel University Dragon Logo and the Women's Medical College Logo.

When you open the coat you are greeted with a custom cut statue of June. There is a bronze statue

on the campus of June and placing this statue on the steps gives you the feeling

June is still there.

Each page of this booklet is a reflection of June's life.

It is a wonderful keepsake for those who received one.

It was our pleasure to create something unique and special in the memory of June.

Her spirit will always live on in the memories her life created.

Vera Mae's Bristro, Muncie, Indiana

Vera Mae's Bristro in Muncie, Indiana

is the setting for this bridal shower luncheon

so Designs by Ginny got creative and used a photo

of the front of the Bristro as the backdrop

for the invite, changed the coloring to deep shades of purple,

the brides wedding colors and then

topped it off with a lined stripped envelope

with deep purple and green strips (brides other color)

An invitation is so much more fun when you can make it

in this case, you don't know what is right around the shoe rack.

Lauren met J.J. while working at Rack Room Shoes,

and it was soon obvious

It Was A Perfect Fit!

The two will soon be married

but before the big day they will be honored

at a couples shower.

Only seemed appropriate that the invite for this event have

Rack Room somewhere in the design.

And, we couldn't resist doing something special for the envelope

when addressing the envelopes.

This invites is getting rave reviews!

Calligraphy, Envelope Addressing

Calligraphy by definition is "the art of beautiful handwriting".

When it comes to envelopes, in my opinion calligraphy is when an envelope is addressed by hand by a person who is skilled in hand writing and can produce writing that is elegant and consistent.

Calligraphy can be expensive to have done and rightfully so. It is labor intensive and does take a skilled hand.

The term calligraphy has been losely used in the wedding industry

for many other applications of addressing envelopes.

At Designs by Ginny we like to have fun with envelopes as the many samples below will show.

We have tons of fonts to choose from and

can most likely match the font of your invitation.

We also like to use a combination of fonts.

Some of the really decorative fonts make the actual address

hard to read so in those cases we like to use the fancy font

for the guests name and a simpler font for the address.

Unlike true calligraphy we are not limited to a few choices of fonts

and therefore can offer alot more options and have fun with the envelope.

The flower on the above envelope matched the flower on the invitation.

When we address your envelopes we also include

a return address on the back flap.

On this envelope we took one of the elements from the invitation

to create an envelope with a statement.

On the back flap we also included the logo

for Brides ala Mode next to their address.

This envelope will be fun to receive in the mail. The couple that the shower invitation is for met at Rack Room shoes so using a pair of shoes was very appropriate and complimented the invite.

The rehearsal dinner for this wedding was at a local restaurant

so we included the front door of the restaurant on the envelope.

How fun is that!

This envelope was just one of the envelopes in a stationery set.

Just makes you want to write a note to someone

so you can address the envelope.

Above are complimenting envelopes,

showing an outer envelope, the inner envelope

as well as a matching lining.

Above are 2 envelopes using monograms and bordered boxes.

Using your pet is so much fun. Above to the left is the envelope with the guest's address, then below one so the customer could address it herself for the extra invites she ordered just in case she forgot someone.

Then to to the right is a sample of the lining for Moe's envelopes.

We can do a coordinating lining for any envelope.

Isn't Buddy cute on this envelope. His owner ordered notecards with her and Buddy on them and we created a matching envelope for her using of course, her best friend, Buddy.

Yes, this is an envelope!

The envelope is printed from edge to edge

show casing the customers front door.

The guest's address was printed on the walkway to the front door

making for an very unique envelope.

Stricking Mango Calla Lily Invitation

This creative invitation was created for Maggie Bussmann who married Jonathan Dismuke over the Thanksgiving holiday. Maggie chose the colors of mango and wine for her wedding colors. We used those colors throughout all of her wedding stationary for a fanatastic looking wedding ensemble.

The cover of her foldover invite was graced with a large mango calla lily that was custom cut on the side for added drama.

When the invitation was opened the inside page was printed with a verse Maggie picked out.

The letter D and some custom scrolls added to the overall look of the invitations and wedding stationery.

When the invitation was completely open, the invitation was centered in the middle and a custom pocket was designed to the side to hold the response card, reception card and accommodations card.

White micah cardstock was used for the cover and invitation and a wine linen for the the backer behind the invite and the custom pocket.

The response card was a postcard response which is being utilized more with the cost of postage. Doing a postcard as opposed to a card and envelope saves money both the cost of the invitation ensemble and in the return postage that is required when sending out the invitation.

Another neat feature that Designs by Ginny offers is that on the response card instead of the traditional line where your guests fill in their name, their names are already printed on the cards so all they have to do is check the box saying whether or not they are attending. We have heard from past brides that some of the response cards will come in with no name on them and it is then a guessing game trying to figure out who the card came from. This eliminates any guess work.

Of course, the invitation wouldn't be complete without a lined envelope.

In this picture, the hotel guest were treated to a gift box filled with goodies. A welcome booklet was attached with a welcome from the bride and groom along with other weekend information. A beautiful silk bow, mango calla lily and greenery adorned the box for an impressive looking gift.

Also, included in the box of goodies was a water bottle with a custom label also created by

Instead of the traditional numbers on the tables, Maggie and Jonathan choose different golf course to name all the tables. Small cards were made to match the table cards and inserted into envelopes that had the guest names printed on them. This is a good way to do the seating as you can have the cards printed up way ahead of time and just insert the correct card that correlates to the table the guest will be at and can be done at the last minute giving you the freedom of being able to change guest from one table to another if needed at the last moment.

Maggie"s menu card carried the same theme from her invitation and added lots of pizzazz to her table decor.

Maggie & Jonathan choose to donate to their favorite charities in lieu of guest favors and the style of this menu allowed for that information to be printed inside each menu.

A long slimline style program continued Maggie look.

And lastly, Maggie was able to thank her guests with a matching thank you card.

Piano Keys, Musical Notes create unique birthday card

Designs by Ginny had fun creating this truly unique custom birthday card.

The customer wanted a birthday card that was more than just a card but a reflection of the person and something that would be treasured and admired and not thrown away.

Music was an important part of Phyllis life and became the main focus of this card.

Alot of attention to detail was given in creating this card.
The card was wrapped using a silk musical note motif ribbon. A curved keyboard cleverly wrapped over the opening of the card. Two window boxes were used, one framing a picture of Phyllis and one framing the sheet music of the song, Happy Birthday.
Under the sheet music a watermark was placed with the number 80.

The sheet music was carried on the inside of the card to create an interesting background. A picture of Phyllis on a horse from her youth also created an unique backdrop behind a picture of Phyllis playing the piano. No detail was left undone as special picture was placed on the piano.

On each side flap other special pictures were added.

A special envelope was also created for the card,

using a high gloss cardstock and detailing it with the keyboard.

The envelope was lined using the sheet music for Happy Birthday to You!

Purple pocket fold Invitation

Jodi & Shawn's invitation was created using a pocketfold from Envelopments.com. Jodi's colors are shades of purple, orange and pink. We were able to incorporate all these colors into her invitation.

The pocketfold is wrapped in a custom band printed using the pink metallic cardstock.

Inside the text was printed on an orange color metallic cardstock with purple text and a custom design added giving this invitation it's own personal look. The orange invitation card was mounted over the pink metallic cardstock tying all of Jodi's colors together. To keep with the look the accommodations card was printed on the pink cardstock keeping in character with the invitation.

Finishing the ensemble the invitation was sent in an coordinating orange envelope with purple calligraphy.

Dresser Mansion backdrop for this invitation

When Elizabeth received her invitations in the mail, she was delighted as they were just what she was envisioning. It is always scary when ordering online because you can't tell exact colors, textures or get dimensions and we work closely with our brides to arrive at just what they are looking for.

This invitation was created using all envelopment papers. Envelopments.com is a paper source that designers can access. They have a huge inventory of fine papers that are used to create a high end product. Envelopments are just releasing their new colors for 2010 and promise to be exciting.

Designs by Ginny also has other sources for many fine quality papers.

The invitation is wrapped in a beautiful red sheer silk ribbon and borders the couples initials that are printed on the cover of the invitation.

Keep in mind when purchasing an invitation with a bow or any type of embellishment that raises the envelope from laying flat that it will require extra postage.

Beth, liked an invitation that Designs by Ginny did for a previous customer using the ballroom of their event venue and wanted something similiar. Her wedding is taking place at the Dresser Mansion in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her colors of orange and red make this invitation pop!

Using a border on the invitation and then mounting the invitation on the orange cardstock create more dimension to the inside of this invitation. Both the upper flap and lower flap of the foldovers were used for additional text.

A custom pocket was added to the back of the invite to hold the response card and Words of Wisdom cards. Beth wanted to do something different instead of a guest book and sent to her guest a card that they could fill out their words of wisdom or best wishes that she will make into her own personal guest book.

Married by Michiana, Kaitlyn & Michael's Invitations

When Designs by Ginny delivered Kaitlyn's invites, her first response was, Wow! pictures just don't do these invites justice. That is the case in most pictures online. It is hard to capture all the shimmery and texture of the papers used and the true colors. This invite was designed using a soft white metallic cardstock as a trifold. Each fold of the invite captured something special.

As you open the invite you are captivated by the rich design of the print used that framed Kaitlyn & Michael picture. Opposite thier picture is the date of their wedding.

The invitation was printed on the soft white metallic paper and then mounted above a shimmery green linen like metallic cardstock adding more dimension to this invitation.

Paisley, Dots & Checks Thank You Card

This custom thank you card was created with

the Paisly Splash Baby Crib Set Ensemble in mind.

The customer loved the design of the Paisly Splash

so we took all the elements and put them together

to create this unique baby thank you card.

We also personlized it with their last name initial, "R"

and added the words, Thank You!

But, this thank you card isn't just for baby.

It's classic design allows for it to be used for other

thank you's as well.

It could also be used just as a personalized notecard

by taking the words thank you off.

Just pretty in pink!

Dog Party Invite

Designs by Ginny has had the pleasure of creating

a birthday party invite for Moe

for the past few years and this year Moe will be turning 13!

This year's theme is based on Moe being the age of a teenager

and driving priviledges just around the corner so we had fun creating

a race car theme invite.

I would say Moe is one very lucky dog!

In the picture above we have a matching envelope

with a full size picture of Moe

with the guests name and address written on his body.

Extra envelopes were also created for those last minute invites

so Moe's mom could hand write in the address.

Each gives the invite some extra wow factor.

To completely finish the look a custom lining

was added to the inside of the envelope.

Gotta admit who could resist that adorable face!

Holly loves the plumeria flower and it became the focal point of her invites. On the cover of the trifold style invite a custom cut grouping of the plumeria flowers is attached with a ribbon to hold the invite closed and be tied into a bow. Inside the invite printed on a soft metallic white cardstock is mounted on top of a fushia color metallic cardstock adding depth. Each side fold supports a verse. Holly also wanted the flowers to carry to the back of the invite as well. Matching response and reception cards completed the ensemble.

50th Anniversary Centerpiece

Seems appropriate to share this centerpiece

with Valentines being just around the corner.

To make it 50 years together is certainly remarkable

and a true test of love!

This centerpiece was created using mylar tissue, lace ribbon

gold glitter, ting and a custom cut number 50.

The customer also provided a

wedding picture of her parents which was duplicated

and placed inside the 0 of the 50 making for a

very special and unique centerpiece.

Two Hearts Invite

Two Heart Became One!

Sylvia and Andrew had a destination wedding in Chicago, Illinois.

It was an intimate affair with only family and a few friends.

Andrews parents wanted to celebrate this union with their close

friends & will be celebrating their marriage with an Open House.

This invitation suits this event perfect as it will be the

day before Valentines Day.

Black & creme colors were used for the invite to keep in character

with their wedding invitation.

Each envelope was addressed within a black heart.

To add interest to the invite a swirl background was added.

The invitation was printed on ametallic ivory paper.

A custom envelope lining was added to the envelope with the

matching swirl design for a complete look.

A black shinny backer card was used behind the heart.

Mia & Patrick's Invite

This elegant invitation was created using paper from Envelopments.

The cover pattern was printed on an ecru vellum translucent paper using a light shade of purple.

A custom label was created using the same cardstock as the invitation incorportating Mia's and Patrick's initials and using a single element from their pattern.

The inside of the invitation consists of 4 layers.

The bottom layer is called Magnolia by Envelopments. It has a heavy texture and adds a special touch to the overall look of the invite.

Above that is the Micah Ecru cardstock with the pattern printed on it creating a patterned border.

Above this layer is another layer with the solid eggplant color as another border.

The final layer is also the Micah Ecru cardstock with the invitation wording printed in an eggplant color ink.

On the backside of the invitation a custom pocket was created to hold the matching

accommodations card, response card and reception card.

The accommodations card and the reception card have the same pattern as the cover.

The response card has just the single design like you see under the pocket.

The accommodations card also has directions and a map on the backside.

The envelopes are the matching Micah ecru paper only in the text weight.

Each envelope was custom addressed and a single design was used under the address.

The return address was printed on the back flap.

Completing this ensemble a custom lining was inserted into the envelope using the ecru vellum like the cover.

Thyme of Grace Cafe, South Bend, Indiana

For those of you who live in the South Bend/Mishawaka area I want to introduce you to a really cool place to have lunch. Thyme of Grace used to be located downtown Mishawaka, but relocated to the River Park area in South Bend. It is a wonderful place to enjoy lunch away from all the hustle and bustle of Grape Road.
Michelle, the owner has done a wonderful job in creating a very comfortable and quaint atmosphere. Her food is yummy and delicious!
She also does catering so keep her in mind for your next event. She also rents out her restaurant for small parties and it would be excellent for a rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, baby shower, birthday party, any small event that you want an intimate cozy atmosphere.

Sammy's Dog Coat

Some of you may be aware that Designer, Ginny Schumacher of Designs by Ginny does more than just invitations. She has an unique blend of talents. One of her talents is that she is an accomplished seamstress. Being a dog lover, she has created several very creative dog coats. Below is one she created for Sammy, a Cavalier King Charles, owned by one of New York's premier event designers, David Monn. To keep in the spirit of fun, Ginny also made a matching scarf for David.

Custom Styrofoam Dog Bones & Dog Paws & Custom Dog Paw Notecard

Designs by Ginny is always creating something new.

Below are styrofoam cutouts of a dog bone and dog paw that are being used for a 13th Birthday - Bat Mitzvah party. This young girl decided to make her special day also a special day for Theraputic Service Dogs and turned her party into a fund raiser. These stryofoam cutout are being used to hold suckers. Her color scheme is hot pink and tiffany blue. It is hard to tell in these pictures but the cutouts were also covered with a white glitter to give them some extra pizzazz.

In celebration of this little girls gift of kindness to animals, Designs by Ginny created a custom notecard for her with a cutout of a dog paw and her initial cutout in the center of the paw. In keeping with her color theme the initial cutout is backed with a pink cardstock. The actual notecard is watermarked with the words, " A note from Rachel" printed in the tiffany blue color.

The paw cutout is also mounted giving it a 3D dimensional look.
